Bar Keepers Friend Busts Marks

Friday September 1, 2006

This is going to sound like a commercial, but if you collect Pyrex I strongly suggest you go out and get a can of Bar Keeper’s Friend cleaner. We picked up a can after reading about it on the Ebay glassware forums. The stuff is seriously like magic on silverware marks.

We put up a short article on using BKF along with some examples. Even after using it for such a short time we can already say it’s well worth the 3 bucks or so for the can. One note: we have not sufficiently tested this on the COLORED area of any Pyrex pieces. You’re on your own if you choose to do so. BKF is best used on “blank” areas of glass such as on the inside and bottom of mixing bowls and casseroles. But it sure does wonders for marks from metal that don’t come off with other methods.

We've been having a lot of bots trying to leave comments lately. So we're adding a math thingy to the comment form. It should be easy to solve :) Regardless, you won't see your comment right away, because we are also moderating each one. It will most likely show up in a few hours to a few days.
