Pattern: Butterfly Gold
Identifiers / Alternate Names: Various butterflies and five petaled flowers. Most commonly a yellow-brown pattern on white, though the reverse of white on yellow-brown also exists. Two distinct pattern variations exist for various items - one has just the butterflies and flowers while the other has those items embedded on "wheat stalks", much like the Autumn Harvest pattern. Some lids feature a ring of butterfly gold with a single flower in the center, and the smallest size refrigerator box contains a single flower. Some other items (mugs and some casseroles) may not have butterflies in the pattern and only flowers. Also known as: Golden Butterflies, Five Petal Flowers

As I’ve said before, the Butterfly Gold pattern holds a special place in my heart because I grew up eating off Corelle plates and bowls with the pattern on it. I STILL eat off them. However, I don’t believe we ever had the coffee mugs with the pattern on it, so I’ve been slowly picking them up.
Although these mugs are Pyrex, they were meant to compliment the Corelle Livingware series of dinnerware dishes. You can tell they’re made of Pyrex from the color of the glass and because they’re rather heavy and sturdy - believe they were meant for coffee or hot chocolate and not as teacups. There are several different styles of this mug with the familiar bronze colored Butterfly Gold pattern, but this one has a ‘D ‘handle which is angled on a diagonal, so we’re going to call them “diagonal handle” mugs for lack of better term. The actual pattern on the mug is in a straight line, and they don’t have the “butterflies”, just the 5 petal flowers and plants alternating.
For reference, they have the #1410 on the bottom and I believe they came in sets of four (I’ve seen boxes for other patterns that came in fours). They don’t have saucers and the size of 300 ml is marked on the bottom. In addition, they have the disclaimer “For Oven And Microwave - No Stovetop or Broiler - Corning, NY U.S.A”. They have a very nice heft, and that diagonal handle makes it easy to grip, for me at least.
