Chartreuse Honeysuckle Promotional Oval Covered Casserole (1960)

This is actually a promotional oven to table covered casserole that was released around 1960. It’s actually the same pattern as the Golden Honeysuckle items, but the color is a green or chartreuse on plain white. We’re curious about whether this size promo came with the pattern in both green and gold, or if it [...]

What’s for dinner? Enchiladas!

As Pyrex collectors, one of the questions we get asked the most is: “Do you actually use your Pyrex?” The question is yes, yes, and yes! We have vintage (and contemporary) Pyrex pieces are all over our house and we do use them every day. Some of the pieces we use the most are the [...]

Turquoise Love

Ah, hello there Pyrex fans! Sorry we haven’t updated in a while, it’s mostly because our Pyrex collecting has slowed down quite a lot over the past year. There is only so much room in our house, and most of you know that Pyrex takes up a lot of space. We’ve also slowed down because [...]

Snowflake Pyrex on Mad Men

So just a quickie post - we’ve been huge fans of AMC’s Mad Men series. Since the show is based in the 1960s and they pay really close attention to accurate set decor, every so often, we spot some vintage Pyrex being used in the show.
We’ve seen the Green Wheat Pyrex promo before in the [...]

Spirograph

Whew, it’s been awhile since we’ve posted any finds up. We haven’t given up on searching for Pyrex for our collection, but we definitely have slowed our acquisitions. It’s just difficult to find promotional items at the thrift that we don’t already have. We did pick up this Spirograph promo casserole recently, which we’ve wanted [...]

Spirograph Promotional Casserole w/ Underplate

This is a fabulous promotional round casserole with a clear lid that has a really cool design on it. It’s been unofficially called the “Spirograph” promotional because of the resemblance of the lid design to the drawings produced by the geometric toy popular in the 70s (we had one!).

The base is a standard #475 2.5 [...]

Gooseberry Golden Cinderella Mixing Bowls

This is a very unusual Gooseberry Pyrex color which is goldleaf on a beige pattern. It’s very reminiscient of the Golden Acorn pattern. We haven’t seen this color scheme too many times - definitely more rare than the black, yellow and white variety of gooseberry.
We aren’t certain about the actual numbers of these produced and [...]

Pinks and Blues

Colder weather has been setting in here at Pyrex Love HQ in Southern Calif. With the chillier temps have come a strange increase in vintage Pyrex at the thrift stores. Not sure what the deal is, but above are just a few of the recent finds we’ve had.
First up is a Pink Daisy large oval [...]

Chemex Coffeemaker

Came across this larger Chemex coffeemaker which is made using Pyrex glass. Earlier, I’d seen a pair of them for cheap at an estate sale, but stupidly only bought the smaller one. This one has the typical green color of stamp you see on flameware, and reads “Chemex U.S. Patent 2,411,340 Made in U.S.A. From [...]
