This is an interesting un-named limited casserole that’s characterized by a multitude of black and orange floral line drawings appearing on a clear lid. The flowers are so close together and in such great numbers that they almost look like “bubbles”. Hence, we’ve decided to name this casserole Floral Bubbles until it’s real name can be determined. Which could easily be never, as we’re well aware that many of Pyrex’s special limited items were not released with names. It hasn’t been confirmed this is a promo item, but chances are good it is.
We were actually going to call this item “Floral Spray” because it looks like the flowers are spraying outwards… but interestingly this is actually an existing name that Corelle used for one of their dinnerware patterns. So we didn’t use it to avoid confusion. Halloweve1977, whose lid photo from flickr is at left, has called this one “Cass’s Casserole” because of its similarity to Cass Elliot’s dresses.
The casserole base is a standard 045/945 yellow 2 1/2 quart oval casserole, and I think this originally came with a dual candle warmer type tray stand with wooden handles. Not 100% sure on this, though. We have confirmed with several readers that the lid is actually NOT printed on both sides. The orange flowers and black flower drawings are on the same side. They only look like they’re on both sides because of the way they’re printed and the thickness of the glass.
