More Mugs

Friday September 7, 2007

We’ve gotten behind on posting stuff in the daily flow of the blog because of all the action going on over at the Flickr group. It’s sometimes easier to post pics over there, but we’ll keep coming back to the blog every so often. Here are two great sets of the standard D-Handle Mugs we’ve picked up recently. They are Citrus Orange and Steel Blue in color - we know the orange ones were meant to complement the “Citrus” Corelle pattern, but aren’t sure about the blue ones.

I’m glad to see you post something about these. I have one in the Citrus, and 3 or 4 Steel Blue, and was wondering if the went with other pieces. Thanks!

The steel blue ones were meant to go with some of the Corelle patterns too, I forget which ones… CindyMuffin had told me about them in a discussion on Flickr. We also have the burnt orange color ones too…

Here’s a list of all the Corelle patterns this style of mug goes with. The patterns themselves consist of 2 bands of colour, one thick and one thinner. This is a list that I wrote on another forum and I’ve just semi-copied it here. (rimmed and coupe refer to the shape of the plates.)

    Rust (Burnt Orange) Mug:
Chestnut - Rust & Tan (coupe)
Cinnamon - Rust & Tan (rimmed)

    Blue Mug:
Indigo - Blue & Grey (coupe)
Slate - Blue & Grey (rimmed)

    Tan Mug:
Almond - Tan & Yellow (rimmed)

    Orange Mug:
Citrus - Orange & Yellow (rimmed)

    Green Mug:
Heather - Green & Pink (rimmed)

    Black Mug:
Onyx - Black & Grey (rimmed)

At a later date, almost all of these patterns were sold with white Corning mugs decorated with stripes to match.

Thanks cindy… which forum were you writing in? Is it a good corelle forum?

It’s on Microwave Cooking for One. There’s not a lot of traffic and mainly it’s pattern ID help. But there are some well informed members!

There’s also a Corning Ware and a Pyrex forum there, they get less activity.
