Although we haven’t seen this particular Pyrex casserole official listed as a promotional item, it most likely is. This distinct pattern features a dark blue “Tree Of Life” pattern on a lighter, nearly turquoise shade of blue. The pattern is encased in an outlined box and contains a flower pot or vase that has various flowers, leaves and wheat-looking stems growing out of it. Most notable are two symmetrical birds sitting on the branches of the tree - they sort of look like roosters.
Because of these birds, the pattern is sometimes confused with the red/orange “Friendship” pattern… (And when we first saw this we thought maybe it was related to the Bluebird Promo pattern.)
The casserole itself is a standard 2.5 quart #475 sized round casserole. We don’t know whether this came with a carrying or warmer caddy, but it did come with a clear lid as far as we can tell. The one we found recently (2009) did not have its lid. We don’t know what the date range on this one might have been either.
Update 12/2010: The original name for this pattern now appears to have been identified as “Saxony“, so we will refer to it as that from now on. It came with a clear lid and a wooden handled brass carrying cradle. The year of production also appears to be around 1967.
