Pyrex Love - Orange and Yellow Tan Casseroles

We’ve come across a few interesting promotional casseroles lately. Well, I guess to call them finds is a bit of a stretch, since the two bigger ones are Ebay items. It’s just so difficult to find these casseroles with their original cradles which is something we’ve been coveting lately.

First up is a standard 943 promo yellowish-tan casserole that doesn’t have an official name (yet) but is commonly called “Weave”. We’ve been contemplating a name for that one, mostly because “weave” is a bit ambiguous. Wicker or Geometric Weave or Basket Weave might be better. It came with a nice wooden handle cradle that has a candle warmer on the bottom.

Next is a larger 945 promo casserole that’s been on our list of items to pick up. Again, there’s no official name, but the orange and pink designs on the front sort of look like Rosettes, so we’re thinking of a name along those lines for the reference. This also came with a wooden handled candle warmer cradle, also from Ebay.

Last up is an interesting little JAJ Crown Pyrex mini-casserole. We’re not sure of the name of this one (Checkers?) but it was found at the Salvation Army the other day. Very unusual to find these English pieces in California. We’ve been meaning to start up a little section on JAJ one of these days but just haven’t gotten around to it. The pattern features highly stylized green and blue rose blooms - very interesting.

I love orange pyrex. Don’t own any yet, but it’s next on my list.

Susan Hibberd has written a book on JAJ Pyrex and she has an excellent website: http://www.locusarts.co.uk/pyrex_patterns.htm Your little casserole is indeed called Checkers, according to the site.

I have that lime green weave casserole as well. i’d never seen it before I bought it. It kind of reminds me of an Islamic pattern, and it’s one of my favourites.

We've been having a lot of bots trying to leave comments lately. So we're adding a math thingy to the comment form. It should be easy to solve :) Regardless, you won't see your comment right away, because we are also moderating each one. It will most likely show up in a few hours to a few days.

30 + 40 is ?
